Just got out of the prologue, talking to everyone and am going to explore a bit in the forest area i missed by wandering into the boss fight before i meant to. Playing on hard.

Game is pretty rad so far! Love the writing and characters and world and all that. Battle system is better than i was expecting too. Almost restarted early on because it was tougher than i expected, but its gotten much better as i get more skills/ep/schera. Aerial was a pretty big game changer

Also...i will finish berseria some day. Some day. Have also been playing divinity original sin 2 with bae, which is truly excellent.

oh ya go my trails in the sky

If you're still in Rolent, the best option IMO are Shining Poms. If you've yet to encounter them, they should be on the path from Rolent to the Bose Region Checkpoint (the way to the Farm is on this road.) I think they're on the third screen/last one before the checkpoint.

They're these little sparkling white creatures. They don't always spawn when you enter the area, but you can just move to a different screen then re-enter until they do. Once you get in battle with them, unload your S-Crafts on them, they're tough little guys.

Other than Poms... IIRC some enemies on the trail north of Rolent that leads to the mine/tower has some guys that drop Fire Sepith but I'm seriously doing this from memory and am not positive about that.

There are some secret/hidden quests for the record, though I don't think there are any in the prologue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Also you might have realized this already, but NPC dialogue updates pretty frequently in this game, and it's also more substantial dialogue than in most RPG's. I don't recommend trying really hard to make sure you read every line of dialogue from every NPC (which some people do) because that can be exhausting, but I think it's good to know that this is a part of the game if you like that sort of thing.

Are these hidden quests hidden in ways other than just talking to people?

Haha, yeah, like I said, they're tough.

Later (I'm not sure you can have the necessary quartz at this point) you can get the spell Shadow Spear (5 Time) which is a Time Spell with a 20% chance of Instant Death. Poms aren't immune to that, so you can just spam the spell at them and hope you get it to trigger before they run. That's a less taxing way than having to use all your craft points to S-Craft them down.

There's a Shining Pom encounter in each region with the later ones giving more Sepith (and EXP.) They're usually the most efficient way to gather any sepith (or level grinding) but the Prologue is the one time where it may be questionable given the resources you need to commit to beat them.

Just discovered that. Went and did a pass through the trail to the mines, then did the pom again since i had filled my cp. Killed one but hit others and got 58 of everything this time. Pretty nice

Also i grinded the slots not so much for stats but for ep. So i can use arts more freely and less backtracking to healing spots

The intent, and result, wasnt to become overlevelled. The intent was to not have to run back and forth to restore points for ep like i was doing in the beginning.

Not sure why this is something people got hung up on

Also when you factor in how many battles i skipped/ran from because i was out of ep (battles that werent outside the scope of normal play), i didnt really end up far ahead of where i would be. That hour wss mostly spent resetting to get good rng against poms

I'm kind of wondering how you're running out of EP so much its a problem (are you not using crafts?), but honestly it doesn't matter too much.

You'd be maxed unlocked orbments or almost maxed on Estelle and Joshua by the end of Chapter 1 anyway.

She can. Everyone can learn any spell. And the Bracer Notebook shows you every spell and its requirements. I'm pretty sure Shadow Spear is 5 Time. That's another thing I did from memory. The Bracer Notebook's page on Arts will tell you for sure.

The only other thing I can think of for why Schera isn't learning it if the requirement is right is that you don't have all the time on one line.

In case you don't know, the game checks the element totals for each line and looks at the line totals to determine what arts you have access to. So, if you have 3 Time on Line 1 and 2 on Line 2 it won't work because the game sees 3 and 2, not 5. Lines start from the center slot and on PC should be color coded I think.

The takeaway is that generally speaking, less lines are better for casters and so are longer lines. The ideal caster orbment would be a single line. If my explanation didn't make sense I think that's another thing that has a page or two in the Bracer Notebook so you could check its explanation.

Yeah. There are quartz later on that increase your EP but that takes up a quartz slot obviously. Otherwise, unlocking slots is the only way you increase EP.

I wouldn't worry about equipment. There are missable equipment and items but I would not stress about that at all honestly. If that is concern for you anyway, you're likely going to want a guide for that - your main target will be the Carnelia series of books. If you have the complete set you can trade them in for a weapon near the end of the game. But collecting them all can be very difficult without a guide.
