i.e. when using my laptop

I think it's become somewhat of a bad habit for me. I can't just relax and watch a video, for example. Most of the time I'll have something open on the other screen, but that usually just distracts me and I miss something in the video. I don't have both screens in use at all times but I have to admit there's a bit of a compulsion to fill them both up.

yes, it is hard because you don't have two fuckin screens real estate anymore so you gotta clutter it up with windows

Well yes, I know I sound like captain obvious here, but the point I was trying to make is that my usage of both screens has devolved into a habit of "because I can" more than an actual need. I do legitimately use both sometimes, but not that often

I have like, the opposite problem. I find my phone screen to be pretty much the perfect size for things. Moving to my laptop makes me feel like theres too much room. What do I do with al the room? Do I really need 13 inches to browse reddit?

The computer I most use at school has two monitors. I never use the second. Its just there, taking up space where some notes could go.

The two exceptions are 1) a website that is awful on mobile and doesnt have an app, 2) typing a document.

I don't know how some people can handle using a phone as basically their full-time computer. I can barely even stand a laptop

You're like five years younger than me though

I often legit need two screens. Sometimes I'm testing client and server at the same time where one or both are full or nearly full screen applications in their own right. But that's hardly a typical case for most people.

I'm at the point that I can use a phone for most things but I couldn't get rid of my computers. Like I used to take a laptop out with me whenever I could but now I'm fine with my phone and maybe my tablet. They've gotten a lot better on the software end and you can pretty much perform every basic task on them just as well as on a computer.

But when I'm using a desktop I feel very restricted without two screens.

I just use multiple laptops and, while at work, I usually have one of those laptops with me and set up next to my monitor.
