So I hear with the new Mario Party, you NEED to use Joycons for it. That's all fine and dandy before you realize, this is a 4-player game. The Switch only comes with 2 of these. I have a pro controller. That cost $70. 2 Joycons costs $80. Wtf Nintendo. How's someone supposed to play these games with friends. Shit costs way too much.

I'm kinda mad that I can't just buy one and use my pro controller. It's not like you need a pointer (there is no sensor bar like the Wii). It still has the motion controls. Costs add up man. It's like, I would just be buying them for this one game. That's the real waste.

I also have to factor in what I would be acquiring for Smash Ultimate. And Joycons (especially if each won't function as their own controller, which hasn't been confirmed either way yet) aren't at the top of my list.

There's a Mario Party bundle with two joycons.

It's the cheapest console to play local 4 player multiplayer games lol

I just feel like I'm being cheated if I get the joycons for Super Mario Party and then it turns out that you can't play Ultimate with a single joycon.

That's going to be the main game I play on my Switch, you know?

Justify the pro. It is also expensive and it only lets one person play.

Why wouldn't you be able to play Ultimate with a single Joycon? You could play Brawl with a single Wiimote.

What's there to justify? It's a bit more expensive than the PS4/Xbox One controllers because it has the HD rumble and motion controls.

The pro controller and the joycons cost so much because of the HD rumble, wireless, nfc connection for amiibos, and motion controls. At first I thought it was basically a wireless controller and thought it was insane, but those cord controllers actually don't come with any of those features. It's just a normal controller, no rumble, no nfc connection nor motion controls. Hence why they're like 20 bucks.

I can see why they're 70 dollars but I'd never pay that much, maybe 40-50 is more reasonable for me. Joycons being 70 or 80 or whatever is MUCH more understandable and I'd pay that much for them, but...it doesn't matter since most people I know own a switch and can bring their own joycons.

Not really. I haven't had to change my Xbox One Elite batteries in months yet I'm basically glued to a charging cable with my PS4's controller. Amazon Basic batteries are the shit.

That's kind of a ridiculous answer since you can get 3rd part controllers for a fraction of the cost. Clearly it is not due to manufacturing costs.

the third party controllers are wired-only, have no motion controls, hd rumble, or nfc reader.

Because their controllers cost quite a bit more. On Amazon PS4 controller is $47 , XBox One controller is $48 and Switch Pro is $63.

I see one with everything but the NFC reader for $25. I mean, 3rd party controller are obviously inferior but the manufacture costs for Nintendo are not nearly triple the manufacture costs for 3rd party controllers. Oh and how can we forget to mention how the pro controller was a victim of Nintendo's bullshit artificial scarcity nonsense at launch. I like Nintendo and all but I don't know why people defend them when they do stuff that is obvious bullshit. Their controllers are overpriced because they can get away with it. It's as simple as that.

Aussie dollars are worth about the same as American dollars, everything is more expensive there because no real reason. They just can do it.
