The game looks fun as hell. However, they are pushing the diversity so much no wonder people are screaming SJW nonsense. I'm black. I like diversity but if you are going to do a WWII shooter based on our history then why make it so historically inaccurate? Men and women of all races fighting on all sides on the front lines with prostetic limbs and random melee weapons. It's just wrong.

You know what would have been really fucking cool and acceptable? Do a WWII shooter in an alternate timeline. Have the story be based on that. Maybe someone from our timeline gets transported to this crazy alternate WWII timeline with all the diversity and different events. Not only would all of this be acceptable but I think the community would embrace it as very creative and it would have been fucking awesome.

I know in terms of scenarios they try to be accurate. But it feels like the Battlefield series has been leaning more towards pomp with recent installments, so they try to "break convention" where they can.

Meanwhile at the launch of Battlefield 1 you had the Germans, British, US, Kingdom of Italy, Austrian-Hungary Empire and Ottoman Empire as playable factions

They also completely ignored the invasion of Poland despite going in chronological order

Only in the red army were women had combat roles. Some women did die on the American side but it was a very small number, like in the teens.

I do like the subject of ww2 and would like a game made soon that mirrors the whole vibe of it, even going as far to make it black and white or at least have that option.

aight cool, i just read the first post.

i don't think this is solely to blame on low preorders btw. a part of it? sure. other things i would say could affect the preorders

-ea's e3 showing. it was hot garbage. i don't watch every e3, but that was one of the worst i've seen. bad e3s can hurt you, like it did 2013 microsoft and 2006 sony.

-ea's reputation, even outside the e3. battlefront's fuckery was legendary. i'm hearing some are mad at how madden is looking. some blame ea for andromeda for sucking. i'm personally a little annoyed at how they're showing anthem. i can't really think of any way ea is killing it.

-release date is between rdr2 and cod. rdr2 probably won't do gta4 numbers, but it's going to do great. i'd steer clear of it unless i was sure i had an entirely different audience.

Hell, I don't even mind the idea of a war story centred on that chick in BFV (though I do have a problem with the prosthetic arm). Just have it fit the setting is all I want. Females fighting for the Soviets or resistance forces (French, Dutch, etc) I'm cool with but not fighting on the front lines with the British, Americans, Japanese or Germans.

yeah this is where i'm at

playable women in modern setting battlefield (or any other FPS)? sure, makes sense and I have no problem with it

playable women in world war 2? nah that doesn't fit the setting

now if they had made it some sci-fi/steampunk alternate history ww2 game I would have been fine with it too
