I just got back from watching The Maltese Falcon.
It marked the turning point in Humphrey Bogart's career in which he became a major player. And Kaspar Gutman, the film's corpulent antagonist, inspired Marvel's Kingpin who would go on to be a major antagonist of Daredevil, Spider-Man, and the Punisher.
