Also I'm pretty sure that GTA has always had licensed music, it's just been from small bands from the UK up until GTA III/Vice City

(although seeing the post above, maybe it was in GTA 2 that the licensed music came about)

While they weren't spectacular or anything, but I like 1's soundtrack and a few tracks off of 2's. 3's original stations are underrated.

And Giorgio Moroder is a real musician. A pretty underrated one too.

GTA 1 had a soundtrack from fictional music groups with fictional songs. I think 2 did too.

GTA 2 definitely had licensed music. Off the top of my head I remember All I Want To Do by Davidson and Short Change by EZ Rollers was in it.

I think that's all fictional. No way that song was made in 1969.

Also, R* needs to bring back the original GTA theme. It's at least been referenced in all the future games, but seemed to be absent from 5, but I could have missed it.
