Restaurant Owners in Maine made the decision to change the shape of their fries from CRINKLE CUT to STRAIGHT CUT and customers have now threatened them and their KIDS with DEATH THREATS over the unpopular change!!

Leslie Parsons, the owner of Bolley's Famous Franks said "I was forced to make an unpopular business decision. I chose to go with an alternative cut. Within the last week, we have encountered some pretty disturbing and hostile customers apparently very unhappy with our straight cut french fries. But it was a decision that came down to costs. The blades are ridiculously pricey and flimsy. It takes many blades to operate the cutter. We still use the best potato in Maine. It is still a very expensive French Fry and our process minus the crinkle cut is still the same. If you're getting into fights over french fries, you've got bigger problems"

Customers have sworn physical violence to her, her husband and her children, Jim after a man threatened to FIGHT him over the new fries!!

The police even weighed in on the fry issue as one officer said "I eat at the Bolley's in Hallowell. I have been privileged to introduce many of my co-workers to the famous franks and fries put forth at Bolley's. These fries are the smoothest sliding fried tubers ever created.We all need to get a grip on being angry with changes which displease us. We can argue the benefits, we can whisper quietly amongst ourselves about how we liked the old way better. But we really cannot be fighting or throat punching people over our differences, especially over straight cut and crinkle cut".

Opinions are DIVIDED as Tony Clewley said they chose price over custoemrs and now he's gonna go to another place as another person said the new cut fries are just as good.

Nathan Belcher said "I was a fan of the thick crinkle cut. There is definitely a difference. I came in once and got the new fries and have not been back since. Way too thin. That being said i'm not about to threaten someone over french fries."

Couldn't they just di both? And then charge more for the crinkle cut? They said it was a cost issue, correct? Well, they should let their customers know. And say that they'll bring them back, but they will cost more. How much more? I guess that depends on how much it would cost for them to still make a profit when dealing with fries. The customers can then decide whether they'll pay the larger amount for the fries, or stick with the cheaper straight fry. It could possibly work...

Well, that's nice. But it wouldn't matter. That's a local diner. People could easily send death threats by snail mail. Or literally take it to them. Just because you don't like social media doesn't mean it doesn't have it's uses. People will use whatever tools they have to do what they want. It's probably safer that they're uses social media. It could have been worse without it. Social media lets them get their anger out in a safer way. Better than going down there and beating up someone. Or getting beat up themselves...

French Fries - Straight(don't think I've had any other type).
Chips - Suppose these are more like steak cut french fries as the fatter the better.
Crisps - Crinkle Cut.

Still I'm not against eating these things that are cut a different way and certainly wouldn't send someone death threats over it.

Bullshit. It's not only this one example of course. There's never been a legit use for social media other than to annoy. Bullshit. It's not only this one example of course. There's never been a legit use for social media other than to annoy. Social media allows people to stay in contact with friends easier. And to reconnect with friends you lost contact with. Even without having their phone number. I was able to meet some of my close friends I had when I was very young on social media. And it was nice being able to talk to them again. I can still see pics of friends and family even though I'm halfway across the country. So, you may no have a reason to use social media. But other people do. And not all reasons are bad. So, you are wrong about it being used only to annoy.

People might do it face to face if there was no social media. But even if they didn't want to do it face to face, they can still drop off the letters or mail them like I said earlier. If people want to send a death threat, they'll send it. And social media is a good outlet for anger. I would rather someone just yell and scream through some kind of social media, rather than possibly letting the anger boil up inside until they went to the restaurant angry. Just because not everyone will go up there angry doesn't mean that one won't. And the one that goes could do anything. Like killing someone. But yelling over social media can sometimes help them calm down a bit. Like how punching a pillow helps sometimes.

A lack of straight fries has sometimes been a deal-breaker for me. I almost entirely stopped eating at Arby's after they got rid of theirs.

Steak cut is the best, along with crescents/wedges, and tater tots.
After that, curly fries.
Straight cut and crinkle cut are probably my least favorite form of fries.

Also, sweet potato fries > normal fries

Not something that warrants death threats, though. Cripes.
