I'm pretty sure it was just some no name anime fighting game that was in development and before they released it they slapped the Castlevania name on it and changed some character names around because these characters look literally nothing like the Castlevania characters they are supposed to represent.

It's a Castlevania fighting game on the Wii, did anybody seriously expect it to be good?

I like that they got Takeshi Obata to do the artwork though. The designs are definitely weird as hell, but he did a good job for what he was supposed to do lol
