I know its a lot better to build your own but I don't know how to do that and this is a birthday gift for my husband so I really don't have the time to learn how to build one either.

I want to know the best place to purchase a prebuilt gaming PC along with a monitor with a budget of $1800.

for the desktop, i would probably buy direct from dell/HP/lenovo/etc for the warranty/customer service (esp if this is a gift), and get the monitor separate. you can stalk slickdeals or something for the monitor.

I'm noticing that they don't have desktop and monitor deals.
Is that a thing of the past?

Their deals are weird. They have 1 hour, 4 hour, daily, and weekly sales on just about anything. But for $1800 you can get some prebuilt with a 1070 or 1080 in it and that can run pretty much any game.

Yeah, I really don't want anything but a 1080.
I found one for $1600 and I'll have to get a cheap monitor.

Post specs if you want to get them checked. Generally prebuilds get crappy mobo and/or PSU.

I have an old monitor from back in 2005 that I could use or I could connect it to my 4K tv.

I'll probably be streaming movies from it to my tv anyway.

Honestly, if you ask nicely enough and convince a supervisor or manager, they will discount a monitor (they might even have a practically untouched open box one) since youll be buying a prebuilt for that price. Id look at what they have for the open box area.

I really don't have time to learn to build a PC.
I have my brother who knows how to build them but when I reached out to him, he seemed disinterested.

You don't have to like, physically build it yourself. You choose the components you want on the site from drop down menus and they will send you the PC, already built. Tons of knowledgeable people here that could make you a build, maybe ask around.

Oh, I didn't know they did that now.

What websites specifically do this?
