Yeah Kaminari has done diddly squat even now but still ranks on Top 10 popularity polls. Kirishima is at least pushed as a major classroom character.

Kirishima isn't even the best part of his internship development, Fat Gum totally upstages him to me. I dunno, Kirishima really didn't impress me during his big spotlight time.

Oh no I still liked Fat Gum more during that and still think he upstaged Kirishima. Again I might just be anti-biased for being bitter about his focus compared to others because I recognize that he is neat. I like how friendly he is.

He loses to a quirkless guy in the spin-off manga tbh.

I mean the quirkless guy stalemates Aizawa so he isn't exactly fodder, but Stain isn't exactly a top tier fighter either.

I guess in BHA there isn't a huge difference in power between characters, it boils down a lot to strategy, which is a thing I like about it.

Oh, I had no problem with that

My problem was moreso how in that instance, it just basically shoves Tokoyami aside to go "LOOK HOW AMAZING FROPPY IS!" It probably wouldn't have been quite as bad without the "Froppy has no weaknesses" line before it.

Froppy is a generalist tho. She doesn't have an obvious weakness but she isn't amazing at anything either.

Like she wants to become a rescue specialist because her quirk isn't that good for fighting.

which also got more time than any of the others so far

Tbh that episode was filler.

Like they had to add one episode and thought "so who among the cast is popular enough to warrant a full episode and didn't get particularly shown during this stretch of the manga? Ok, Froppy"

As for Kirishima I used to dislike how he got too much focus even though he's such a generic shounen protagonist, but I liked how the manga part you guys are talking about developed him.

Like he's not amazing but now he has a real arc going.

As for Kaminari he is just a side character, but he doesn't get so much focus in-story either.

Kaminari is the actual wonder. Like, it makes zero sense that he gets the popularity he does. I guess maybe he's...the closest thing to a Nomura design going on?

This is because she was the one who went to the coast guard and they wanted a literal 20 minute military propaganda for the kids.

I don't think she was unfairly strong in the exams. The bird guy was insanely OP during the sports festival and she was meh, and here they worked together pretty equally.

They do need to show her more though cuz her design is one of the best for sure. But all the girls have that problem. They really need to show Uraraka more though cuz all her scenes are great.

this is interesting. i read the manga and haven't seen much of the anime, and I don't think there's any particular focus on Froppy. Kirishima and Todoroki are the only characters I'd say get any focus outside of Deku, Uravity, Ieda, and Bakugo.

Is there a bunch of Froppy filler in the anime? I think she's exploded as a fan favourite due to.... well, fanservice..... so I guess I could see that putting her more into focus.

I would say I've always thought Froppy's ability to remain level headed in tense situations and her general physical competence puts her at a higher level than the rest of the class, despite her relatively weak and gimicky quirk.

There's a very short span where the anime is like "Froppy is the bessssst, Froppy numbah one" but it's not actually that bad.

yeah I was also thinking that's the kind of thing where they will probably add filler. hell, horikoshi probably just phoned it in knowing that the anime staff could cover for his lazy ass.

haha this is actually a pretty big running joke already so yeah there's plenty of people who are into her.

I think her being front and center in the newest opening is probably an acknowledgement on the comedic angle of her character

Deku vs Baku Round 2

Which is a pretty good ending point imo. Specially since the following arc introduces a whole bunch of new characters so it's good to stop before then.

After season 2 ended, I did a calculation to predict what arcs would be in season 3, based on the episode/chapter proportion the anime had so far.

The season ended exactly where I think it's going to end right now.

Which means S3 has the same average amount of filler the previous two seasons did, though you could argue S1 had much more which means S2 has the least filler.

im just starting season 2. really enjoying it. season 1 was a perfect intro arc although at times it felt a little long.
