What do you think about YouTube vids where someone is talking about a topic while there are some irrelevant gameplay from a random game on screen?

Surely it depends on the content? It's certainly better than a still of their avatar while they do their podcast.

TBH I thought this was going to be a joke about Let's Plays, but it sounds like you're talking about videos where they just paste a video in the background afterwards?

Mostly on an unrelated note, but regarding people's avatars... you ever seen channels where the person won't show their face but they have like some barely-animated avatar "speaking" sometimes? Those are the stupidest. I don't care really if people don't want to go on camera but just narrate like a normal person, we don't need a cartoon substitute. If anything it just draws more attention to them being camera-shy

ehh, whether you specifically like it or not, it helps build a brand without you having to be on camera, sometimes more than if you had been on camera honestly, and I'd recommend anyone who isnt on camera to do this TBH depending on your content

I don't care much. And it is better than a blank screen. Sometimes, the gameplay is more interesting. While I would probably prefer some relevant in most cases, it doesn't matter much. Nor is it really distracting. I chose the first option. But I do think it depends sometimes...

There's one YouTube channel where a dude discusses Nintendo stuff with a blue Muppet-style puppet. I think he's called Arlo. Not all that bad actually, rides the Nintendo dick a bit hard, but not bad.
