I write for stress relief, I mostly do collaborative writing with other people.

Its fine to create products instead of just making art, but I think it takes a vastly different approach.

I guess it's just frustrating because I am low on the pecking order

re: making stuff more broadly, I guess it would be nice to make some kind of content that had an audience, but the stuff I want to make probably doesn't. but maybe i just need to try it and etc

Yeah theres also the problem of doing what you want and expecting there to be an audience but no being able to find it. I really dont have much in ways of solutions here but I really like the topic subject.

If youre fairly talented and make a lot of art, chances are there will be people out there who sincerely like at least parts of your output.

The issue today really as much as ever is getting some verifiable exposure. With so much competition, you really have to do something to stand out.

there is also the issue of making content that is not just obviously someone else's content with your own personal brand attached to it. i guess situations like that create a community that afford variety within a subject, but ultimately everyone ends up doing the same thing with this or that modification

there is an author i'm really into, and he talks about this idea that internet culture is post-relevant, which is just to say that the specific things one person cares about are not the specific things someone else cares about, even though it might be in the same domain of thing

idk. my thoughts on this are pretty confused. i guess i just need to reflect some more on my expectations and what is possible.
