Was playing through the sequel again recently (English patched version) for the first time in years, so many wonderful tracks in that too.

What a beautiful game, and how lucky we were that it would be overshadowed by the great RPGs to come.
Still, it's nice to have one you can play co-op.

You knew that the modern remake had to redo the OST, but you also knew that no matter what they came up with it would still pale.

Some remixed tracks are decent, though.

The games pretty broken in difficulty and balance. Magic is op, hit detections weird, just farm enemies by a door when low on exp but otherwise just literally run past them.

The remake makes the game insanely easy.

The sum is worth more than the parts, though. The whole thing is just a magical experience.

It's a fun experience. The PS4 version is virtually the same as the SNES version besides the updated graphics, ability to switch between a new and the old soundtrack, and also you can assign a couple magic spells to the shoulder buttons.

The games like on Ultra Easy for many reasons:

-You can have 12 items. It doesnt even matter with how easy the game is.

-Dashing is fixed and good. Full control and it only uses your meter. Not the ais. Your free to dash into/past enemies and your AI will easily get the jump on enemies. And it slowly drains meter instead of all of it no matter how far or short you dashed like in the SNES version.

-I have AI set on "Dont attack someone already targeted" so the AI does a great job of attacking enemies that havnt been attacked and backing off. They seem very good/aggressive now.

-Close range melee weapons speed/range (besides knuckles) seems significantly buffed while all the animations and lower range make the knuckles feel nerfed.

-Magic seems to hold enemies in place while letting your party beat on them. So when they get magic cast on them then it usually has 2-3 melee attacks added to damage.

-Fire Sabres significantly better because while set ablaze party is free to beat the hell out of them. I believe the original had them be invincible while being set ablaze.

- Enemies seemed nerfed. Were wolves, especially two, were very aggressive and could stunlock you in original. They seemed tamed and slower now with less melee/karate combo madness.

-Bosses are easier. Spikey Tiger was very strong in the original. Hes just not as aggressive. The wall might kill you if you dont have/use any magic cause you might not be able to kill it fast enough. But 2 spells were enough to kill it.

-Similarily, i remember chain/magic stunning some bosses in the original while now after just a few spells, bosses die due to all the melee attacks that you can land during spell animations.

-When your ai gets separated you can pull up the menu and cancel it to teleport party. This with the improved dash means you can run across a stage and then teleport party to your position.

-You can have BOTH Prim and Popoi cast spells at the same time. So you can either do it both at once or slightly off to infinitely stunlock boss. This is made easier with short cutting spells. This is pretty broken.

- Leveling up refills mp.

-When enemies are petrified by stone sabre, your ai party will continue to attack them. In the snes version the ai would not attack petrified enemies.

-Your ai party doesnt have to stay on screen. Snes they had to.
