Nah, arent as many songs in the films as there used to be which makes them so much more tolerable

Aladdin & Hercules being the exceptions .. but they came out when I was a teen

Theyre different. To me Disney was at its best in the 80s and 90s, but Im sure a lot of that is growing up with those films. Kids nowadays will grow up with different movies and those will probably be their favorites.

With movies like Moana coming out, it's pretty hard to argue that Disney is worse today. (Princess and the Frog, on the other hand...)

But the songs are the best part? How are we supposed to know what characters are feeling and thinking if they don't sing?!

I don't think so. I mean I'm bound to think fondly of the Disney golden era films and not much about the 3D animated Disney films these days due to nostalgia but they are still putting out popular films for the audience they are aimed at and have their fingers in a lot of other pies too hence. They also seem to be putting out more live action films that I believe do well at the box office and whatnot. Hell they even do one of my favourite film series with Pirates and are of course involved in my favourite game series Kingdom Hearts. They have Spider-Man coming out next month and hopefully the Avengers game that Square are working on will turn out good too. All in all they are doing well on the video game front these days.

Yes. Disney has become a leftist platform, rather than being the "family values" company that I naively thought they were when I was kid.

Also, I've never been THAT big of a Disney fan, but the Disney Renaissance can't be beat (by Disney).

I watched the Mickey Mouse Club and Walt Disney Presents when I was a kid in the 1950s, and Disney also did some interesting feature-length stuff like Fantasia.

Now, Disney is just a proliferation of cookie-cutter feature-length toy commercials and unnecessary Star Wars spinoffs. Meh.

Because other than the animation and Dr. Facilier, the thing had next to nothing going for it. The prince felt like a budget Aladdin, the heroine had less personality than Snow White, and the supporting cast was forgettable (well, except maybe for the butler whose design looked ripped out of The Haunted Mansion)

PXqnhkL

So how can I not like it? Pretty easily. But that's not on me, that's on it.

idk, even their direct-to-DVD stuff seems better these days. I was pleasantly surprised by The Three Musketeers (which, admittedly, mostly interested me due to it being featured in KH:DDD)

I would say generally worse.

They used to be known for family friendly, high quality films. Now, it is more of a cookie-cutter, lowest-common denominator type fluff.

I think they started running out of steam (at least on the animation side) around Lilo and Stitch. I can't think of an animated move from that point on that I actually enjoyed.

The parks have for sure

They don't have original ideas anymore and they replace all original ideas and rides with cash grabs and rides based on existing properties

The magic kingdom is still ok and keeps a lot of the classics while putting in some new things that are decent, but getting rid of mr. toad's wild ride was the start of getting rid of a lot of good things (mickeys house in the birthday land/starland/toontown fair area, no more good spooky snow white ride), and the removal of EVERYTHING educational and/or unique about Epcot (innoventions/communicore, horizons, world of motion, universe of energy, the original norway ride, etc) to make it a fucking park for drunks to walk around the countries is a fucking joke, but the worst is definitely how they've ruined MGM studios. I don't think I'll ever forgive Disney for all they've done to MGM studios

I liked Disney from the 80's-early 90's, with films such as The Fox and the Hound, The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, The Lion King, The Rescuers Down Under, Aladdin, James and the Giant Peach, Hercules, and A Goofy Movie.

I remember when Disney was producing a bunch of live movies throughout the 90's and remember watching them in middle school all of the time, which were pretty good and memorable, like Tom and Huck, Santa Clause, Iron Will, Jungle 2 Jungle, Cool Runnings, The Big Green, A Kid in King Arthur's Court, Angels in the Outfield, Blank Check and Heavyweights.

When they started releasing sequels, I kinda stopped caring. The last Disney movie I ever watched was Tarzan, and that was in the early 2000's. I haven't kept up with what they're putting out. So, I can't say they're worse now, but I bet I could say Disney was better during the time I was growing up, especially since the 90's an incredible time, for me.
