Nah that's basically when most of my friends that became alcoholics got gross beer guts. I think it's because they believed this.

That's because they are drinking shit with no calories. Craft beers can have several hundred calories per hottle.

Yea I use to drink a lot of beer and I have a fast metabolism I didn't gain any weight but one time after excessive drinking over a 3 week time period I gained a beer gut.

After a few weeks of just drinking water it disappeared but I never drank that much again.

This

I was drinking your casual beers on the daily. It wasn't until I got into craft that I started needing to hit the gym and chill on the drinks.

It sounds like craft beers are shitty, then.

It's not genetics, your metabolism doesn't slow down much at all. It drops a total of maybe 10% between 20 and 60. People that are over 25 and gaining weight love that excuse, but it's 100% bullshit. Hit the gym, focus on leg workouts, do cardio regularly, and you'll have a better metabolism than you've ever had in your life.

Early 20s guys can drink hard and have shredded six-packs. Early 20s girls can drink hard and still be skinny and have flat stomachs. A late 20s person drinks one beer and gains 3 lbs.

I'm 31 and drink hard while being in shape. Thing is I don't do it too often. Once a week at most, so it's like an event.
