I kinda understand it with the camwhores, because it's lonely people trying to feel like a hot girl cares about them, so they send the tips. Why is this a thing with Twitch though? Or Tik Tok? Or any of these other things going now where people will stream shit and mindless idiots will sit there sending them money? I just don't fucking understand it. Maybe not people who sub or donate a couple of bucks every month, but for the ones who drop hundreds of bucks at a time this is absolutely the reason. There was an article a while ago about a very well off dude who lost his job and literally spent all the money he had left tipping streamers because it made him feel less depressed. But that should only motivate the streamer to get more viewers so they can make a living with it.
