The writing is incredibly artistic, almost to the point where you have to be paying complete attention to the individual words to even remotely understand the plot. I remember watching Rick and Morty on Saturday (though I can't remember where it was), where I watched an episode that I thought was absolute bollocks during the first few lines. Then, I closed my eyes for a second and listened, and all of a sudden the show had an entirely new meaning. It was insane the way Rick and Morty could just become something so different when you listen beyond the obvious.

Another thing you should note about Rick and Morty is that it's easy to get a headache watching too many of episodes. Not because they're bad, but because of how many ideas the show is riddled with and how complex the ideas are. Soon enough your head and mind will fill to the brim and the rest will just sound like trash to you. Just turn it off and give it a watch the next day.

If you don't like the show, you'll definitely at least enjoy reading the screenplay of every episode, and picking apart the script itself and all of the artistic symbolism that go into writing it into the complexity that it is.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

When you're reading topics on Current Events, just remember that they're not like other boards. Their posting is incredibly artistic, almost to the point where you have to be paying complete attention to them to even remotely understand them. I remember reading a post on CE (though I can't remember what it was), where I thought an argument was absolute bollocks during the read. Then, I closed my eyes for a second, and all of a sudden the post had an entirely new meaning. It was insane the way Current Events could just become something so different when you take a look into the words.

Another thing you should note about Current Events topics is that it's easy to get a headache reading them. Not because they're by bad posters, but because of how many ideas their posts are riddled with and how complex they are. Soon enough your head will fill to the brim and the rest will just feel like noise to you. Just turn it off and give it a read the next day.

If you don't like the debates, you'll definitely at least enjoy reading through the trolling, and picking apart the gimmick itself and all of the artistic values that go into making it the complexity that it is.
