I work at a games store in Canada. Correction I manage a games store in Canada.
I have a lot of dealings with EB Games and they're amazing.

I'm on a trip to the US right now. I went to a Gamestop in a local mall.

Their displays were lazy and lifeless, the shelves were barely stocked, the two staff behind the counter were rude and disinterested.
I didn't get the hard sell at the counter like others.
I got rudeness, disinterest, and overall shit service.
If these were my staff, they'd either go for retraining or to the unemployment line.

GameStop has been rumored to be on the verge of financial collapse for a few months now. No shit they aren't putting their best foot forward, they may not have a job in a few months.

They knew you were Canadian and treated you accordingly.

My local gamestop is full of friendly and nice employees always asking if I need help and stuff.

It's a lot different from the EB Games that was in the space before the buy out. When it was EB Games the employees were always assholes that criticized my purchases.

Granted that was like 13 years ago but still I remember.
