I left a pen in my pants pocket and washed and dried a load of laundry. There are ink marks all over the inside of the dryer and all over my clothes. Feels bad.

I don't know how to get the ink off the dryer drum. So far I've tried, off of Internet suggestions, dish soap and goo gone. Neither did anything at all.

just wash the dryer in the washer

There's some folksy remedy for getting ink out of clothes that I recall working for me some time ago but I can't remember what it is. I never did get it out of the washer, but it didn't seem to cause any issues on subsequent dryings.

Try using a little clear hand sanitizer on the inside of the dryer to get rid of the ink, then wipe it with a rag towel.

What ended up working was soaking some white towels in bleach and then running them in the dryer.
