For some reason, Fallout 3 won't start after I press Play.

What do I do?

PC? Could be compatibility issues. We know next to nothing. Can't just guess.

From what I understand, only the GOG version 'works' (using that term loosely) out of the box on Windows 10

If you have Steam or the retail disc version, you have to do a few tricks to get it to work (set compatibility mode for Win XP and either download and install Games for Windows Live or use a mod to disable it)

That said, my last playthrough I used this mod guide and the game ran better than it ever has in my previous attempts (enough that I actually finished the game instead of getting frustrated and quitting when my save would get corrupted or something stupid like that)
