SS is too Nazi sounding, especially for older game guilds back when DBZ was first popular.

In Japanese (and Portuguese, at least), they are saiyajins, not saiyans.
It even led to a stupid joke in Portuguese when Gohan told Videl about saiyajins and she thought he was talking about jean skirts (saia jeans). --- He was born in a coop, raised in a cage, children fear him, critics rage, He's half alive, he's half dead, folks just call him Buckethead ...
