I've heard saying you're moving in with someone who already has Comcast works, as long as they can verify that the address does have Comcast... could always say I'm moving back in with my mom or something.

They will let you cut just the TV if you're keeping internet.
The contract counts just as long as you have any kind of Comcast service. Even just a phone line will do. The person you talked to was either lying or has it wrong. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

If there's a store nearby, go to that. It's better to see the whites of their eyes, they're usually more helpful then.
But yeah, you 100% can add or remove various services even under a contract, as long as you keep at least one of any service. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

my wife wants to let go of comcast this month.

I haven't got out of a cable contract. Though I have broken a phone contract with AT&T before.

You guys were right; called back and got a waaaay more helpful employee who got me hooked up. Turns out with me actually moving (not just pretending to move) I was eligible for a streaming plan where I keep my internet but cut my bill by like $50 in exchange for the TV stuff. Still will get basic local too.
