I played OoT for the first time this year and LOVE it

Playing Minish Cap right now and I'd consider it good

I've never played a NES game before, I'm worried it's aged too much. I couldn't get into Shovel Knight and was told it's because I don't appreciate old games

I played LTTP randomizer a fair bit last year and leaving aside the novelty of that, the game itself holds up well.

It holds up pretty well. It set a lot of the standards you've enjoyed in OoT and Minish Cap. Personally, I think basically all the other Zelda games have surpassed it, but it's still really fun.

it holds up well. follows the classic Zelda formula. most things can be found w/o a guide.

i find SNES games aged generally well while NES and PS1/N64 games did not.

If you've never played it, it's a must play for sure. Epic adventure and all that jazz with tons of content and secrets.

Even though OOT is probably my favorite game of all time, I think LTTP actually holds up a bit better. You'll love it, definitely play it.

Not many SNES games have aged better tbh. DKC 1-3 and Yoshi's Island are the only ones that come to mind.

Aside from the cartoonish look, the game has virtually no flaws.

Another vote for reliving the old ones through the Zelda Randomizers to breathe new life into them. I done the NES original recently with it after decades of knowing the game inside out it was like it was brand new again!

I like ALttP

It's a little antiquated compared to, say, MC or ALBW, but it's pretty noob friendly, unlike Z1 and Z2, and the progression through the game is linear enough that you can't get lost, but still open enough that the crystal dungeons can be done in many different orders

The randomizer is very good, but it's not really fair to elevate a game because of a ROM hack (though, all the popular Zelda randomizers are excellent. That's Z1, Z2, ALttP, OoT, and WW)

I had my girlfriend play the game and she was raging like crazy during the last boss fight swearing the game was garbage. Then when she finally beat it she said the game was pretty good lol. She did absolutely hate how when you die in a dungeon you start over from the beginning. And trust me you don't want to be doing that last temple and then die at the end. I kind of had to play the game for her so she could get up to that part. She doesn't suck at games, but she's never played with consoles since she was a kid, but she does love her pc games. So her controller skills are kind of bad, which lead to somewhat bad experiences in certain parts of the game which required some finesse.

Still damn well. I honestly think that the only knock possibly against it is that the combat is relatively slow compared to some more modern 2D action adventure games, but they honed their skill on that type of play to a beautiful degree and it shows decades later.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

I hear you but really there's nothing wrong with simple as long as the execution is good.
