Some people pronounce crayon (cray-on) differently. They call it either crown and or cran.

It's cray-on like it's spelled.

cran

This is in my top ten cons to living in central PA. Not just cran but all of the incorrect pronunciations and grammar. Every time I hear someone say "I seen it" I want to punch them in the throat.

I've heard "Crane" a few times. The "Y" is still there, but it's extremely subtle.

The English language is not phonetic, you can't use the "it's pronounced like it's spelled" argument.
