How is this stuff possible? Who the fuck is running the Western World? The Monty Python team? The writers of Friends?

A few days ago Sunhawk made a topic about how he's been working minimum wage jobs for 15 years. He has never shown any initiative to better his lot in life, so this topic is quite literally a textbook example of crab mentality.

I can rationalise every point, pretty easily.

The first one, nobody needs to make that much money. The second point is pretty easy, too, since I think Christmas bonuses should be reserved for people with low and mid-paying jobs, since the other people already make a lot of money. This isn't hard to understand. The stuff referenced in the third point is ridiculous. I can JUST about understand a Christmas bonus, for the holidays, but wtf is the reason for a mid-year bonus? Pathetic. The fourth point, I said because you shouldn't be paid even though you haven't done anything yet. The fifth point was because I don't see why people should be paid just for leaving...and sometimes people get paid hundreds of thousands, after getting FIRED from a job. Most human beings who get fired don't get anything, and the company doesn't even allow them to have references for possible future jobs.

I don't understand why most of this stuff is even considered debatable. It's common sense.

if you work full time for 15 years and are still at minimum wage, it's because you're a loser who never bothered to apply yourself. not getting a single damn raise or promotion in 15 years is evidence of a personal issue.

$100k isn't that much depending on where you live and how big your family is. People are expensive.

I don't care if he applied himself or not, anyone working full time should be able to afford to live. The purchasing power of the minimum wage today is less than half of what it was when the minimum wage was first implemented. That is not reasonable.

No one cares about your dishonest emotional sewage. If you worked a high schooler's job for fifteen goddam years and never got a raise or a promotion, you're a loser who doesn't give a damn about your own future and someone else shouldn't be forced to give a damn about your future.

Only 1 percent of full-time workers earn minimum wage according to the Department of Labor. So might wanna avoid launching into your usual routine for a virtually nonexistent number.

The difference being that Burgess voluntarily gave away that money. People aren't opposed to being allowed to give away money, or indeed, to companies being allowed to follow the rules in your original post. They're opposed to forcing such things to happen.
