Which one is the better watch would you say? I heard they are both the same for the first half, but then the original Fullmetal Alchemist changes a lot from the source material, while Brotherhood pretty much follows the manga directly.
Im about to start watching it, which would you recommend? I assume Brotherhood is better because filler usually sucks balls? --- Hello world! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'd say that Brotherhood is unquestionably better overall, but in the initial character development I'd give the edge to the original as Brotherhood rightfully assumed that they didn't need to spend nearly as much time reinventing the wheel.

Watch the original FMA up through the end of the greed fight (you'll know when that is), then watch Brotherhood from the beginning. Brotherhood is better, but it rushed through a lot of the early content to get to the manga material and as such suffers a bit relative to the start of the old series.

Brotherhood is better, but it's most enjoyable when you've already seen the 2003 version first.

I like them both, and I think you should probably watch both. Obviously watch the first one first, as the second was made with the assumption most had watched the first

The whatchyamacallits had neater back stories and origins in the first one. But all in all the second one is better and had a more satisfying ending.

The anime writers actually composed a more cohesive story than the manga writer. That said, if you are a fan of more actiony anime, then Brotherhood will be more enjoyable. If you are a fan of more dramay anime, then the OG will be more enjoyable.
