How is milking fan-service from the OT letting the past die? 90% of the new movies are just homages to the originals. They constantly use old characters and old imagery to carry the movies.
The old ships, the old characters, even Darth Maul

They just insert nostalgia porn into garbage films and call it a day.

And what exactly are they setting up?

Ok, they are going to purge all the old characters for what? Most of these terrible new characters won't show up after Episode 9, they have made no effort to build these characters at all.

The plot is going nowhere, I just don't understand the vision behind these films. Why even make it a trilogy at this point? They are better off just pumping an shitty episode every other year continuing the same story until something sticks

Came in to say this. Though seeing OT fanboys getting so upset over things being different in the new movies is a reward of its own

Even if they suck, Disney is guaranteed upwards of a billion dollars every time between tickets, DVDs, and merch.
