When people ask what I like to do in my spare time, I say things like: Videogames Watching tv Listening to music Eating Drinking Sleeping Shopping I do things Im passionate about and make me happy. I use both interests and hobbies here because I believe they're levels of this stuff. hobbies have more depth in investment than the broad interests you have. sure they share a link together but I am very sure you can talk about your favorite hobby much longer than some stuff you're simply interested in, right? lets say sports. hobby - you play a team sport for an organized adult league such as baseball hockey football soccer or bowling interest - you're a fan of basketball football hockey or soccer the love of the sport for interest and hobby is not better than the other, it's just expressed differently. those who take part in their sport often match skill for skill in competition then their team is ranked based on team performance. that last place team can be better. the first place team can fall to lower places in the league if they cannot consistently perform better than the other teams. individual team members are recognized. when someone asks you these things it's to see what you both share common interests or common hobbies in. usually an activity shows how much of a personal investment it is. most activities are active while some are passive. activities can be reading writing collecting crafting or playing. so i believe the other person is looking for more active stuff you're into when they say the stuff you're into is boring. it's all relative comparing this stuff to each other. that person finds it boring while the next can relate and actually talk about the stuff you share common interests or common hobby in --- You don't stop playing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop playing <cite>HBOSS posted [p:905908724] in Why do som... Not the first though If they ask hobbies I usually say videogames, lounging around, watch tv, and go out to eat and drink alcohol. And surf the internet. Thats it I dont know what active hobbies are.
