Job security for sure.
But horrible environment...pretty likely.

That's just my guess.

Volunteered for like 2 days.

Can't see myself doing that, but it's not the worst job in the world.

It's a challenge, but it's okay. Just a lot of patience.

Yeah, CNA's handle the "messy" physical part, like changing them. LVN and RN deal with the "messy" changes in condition and family/resident complaints. It's terrible when things happen the same time.

I've picked up a lot of patients from nursing homes and most of them literally give zero fucks about them and is usually understaffed too >_> Unless you're gonna pay like $80k a year for a really nice one, it's going to be a bad experience. I want to avoid putting my family members in one as much as possible.

Like I took patients that had decubitus ulcers on their sacrum cuz nurses are too lazy to turn them every 2 hours. And one time I picked up someone cuz he was only responsive to painful stimulus and the fucking nurse was like "i just got on shift and I can't give you report lol" like BITCH! you and your relief are fucking assholes if neither one of you bothered to bring up a report on this guy to each other. Hospitals are never surprised when I tell them Nursing Homes dont tell me anything

/rantfaqs >_>

It's really sad that this is the truth. I need to make sure to become rich so that this never happens to my family. I predict this problem will get worse too as the demographic pyramid turns upside down with the baby boomer generation retiring and there not being nearly as many young people to support them.
