Just finished the season. I really liked it compared to recent previous ones. I thought it started out a little slow, but once everyone was moved to gen pop I thought it picked up better. It helped that I wasn't afraid to skip snippets of episodes if I really didn't care for a person's story, like Daya's mom or most things with Suzanne.

I especially liked both of the sisters' throughout the season. I was surprised they showed both of them killing the other sister.

Spoiler sort-of-review incoming.

Mildly surprised to see Daya go les, she was one of the most steadfastly straight bitches in the early seasons. I guess getting a life sentence plus the oxy made her change her tune.

Maritza is sorely missed since they still have Flaca prominent. Im kinda perplexed by that move. Those two were literally always together before.

Good to see Red come to her senses about how her prison fam aint her real fam. Long overdue.

Crazy Eyes gets way too much air time. Sorry but her character just isnt interesting now. In the early seasons she had a good bit of creepiness but now shes just a harmless loon who is an annoyingly predictable side character.

Friedas back story is cool but Im glad her present day character isnt focused on too much.

The random nudity is pretty awesome. But the show seems to noticeably have less lesbian action than earlier seasons. Tbh, it seems like there would be way more at a max place.

The fantasy draft is a nice add on.

Biggest problem to me is why a few more new prison girls werent provided more depth. We just get a few and they seem pretty bleh. Otherwise the new girls are just typical druggies or extremely minor talking points that come and go. This while the old characters are mostly given just a repetitive rehashing of their backstories/personalities. Lorna, for example, provides literally nothing new. Writers need to move on, Jesus, this is the sixth fucking season, youve already milked that characterization.

Overall, decent to good. I still think a few minor tweaks could make it way better. But big improvement over last season.
