This was seriously aggressive. I got two from my home state (which are various telemarketers) and then FIVE from a number in Genoa, WI. I have never heard of that place and I dont know anybody who lives there.

I dont have a voice mail set up, but nobody tried to text and Im also easy to find on social media if you know my name and number. This leads me to believe its a call center.

The reason I didnt block the caller immediately is because I had muted my phone when the first call came through (somebody else).

likely all spam.

I get a bunch of numbers that I don't recognize throughout the day, and I just decided to block them as they come, since idk if there's any other way to stop them.

If he did, he would have probably messed with me on social media, but its not a bad idea. I have a recycled number and I sometimes get calls from debt collectors who refuse to acknowledge that Im not the person theyre looking for. They might have been responsible for the five calls, but they usually call from blocked numbers.

I agree. Our cell service providers allow people to pay to call from blocked numbers and the only way we can unmask them is to (you guessed it) pay more money. My phone is on mute half of the time because I keep getting these out-of-state calls.

That makes it a nightmare when Im expecting calls about job applications, because I dont want to reject a call from a potential employer or something

Their theory is that you might answer a local number thinking it's a close relative or something. They aren't actually calling from those numbers anyway.

Oh, man. I get those too often. With those, I can at least reject them because I never changed my number from when Louisiana. I only answer numbers with my own area code.

Eh I mean a potential employer will leave a message 99% of the time so generally that's not too big of a deal

What pisses me off is when I'm in the car. My phone is bluetooth'd up through the speakers so I can use hands free calls, so it obviously turns off the radio to ring, so either A.) Listen to ringing for 30 seconds, or B.) Decline the call which might register my phone as "active" since I actively denied the call, as opposed to letting it ring out.

Man I get so many of these spam calls everyday. And I know they arent important because most of the time they dont even let it ring long enough for it to go to voicemail. So annoying

The exact same thing happens to me, too. I used to feel bad rejecting calls, but I do that all day long now that they keep calling me like this.

Theres no way to pinpoint it, either. You have to use your phone number for everything, now. Anybody could have sold it.

Yeah at this point I avoid anything that needs a phone number. Generally rewards things like Panera ask for an email address to confirm and a phone number, but as long as you verify with a throwaway email then you can just use a garbage phone number if they ask you for it.

I had robocalls from this one company multiple times a day for about a week.

I blocked them, and as far as I know they quit calling after a little while. So maybe the frequency is just a temporary thing?
