From the article, and I'll only use the writer or Junker's words and explicitly not include Trump's:
Mr Juncker, meanwhile, said the US and EU had agreed to hold off on further tariffs as part of trade talks aimed at averting a crippling trade dispute involving the lucrative automobile market.

We have identified a number of areas on which to work together, work towards zero tariffs on industrial goods.

That was my main intention, for those to come down to zero tariffs on industrial goods."

As US soybean farmers have struggled against retaliatory tariffs, Mr Juncker said the EU "can import more soybeans from the US and it will be done."

He said the two sides also agreed to work together to reform the World Trade Organization, which Mr Trump has vehemently criticized as being unfair to the US.

If all he want was further negotiations, sure. Not sure why he bothered with the new tariffs if that was all since the US has had many trade negotiations with the EU in the past. The EU even said months before the the new traiffs were announced, they'd be willing to negotiation a tarriff free trade deal.

If the end result of this is greater trade with the EU to offset the impact of China's counter-tariffs while we still have tariffs on them, that's a net gain for the US.

Not really, the EU has been negotiating this for years already. It's a net loss due to causing delays.

Wouldn't that be an economic loss for people in the lower class as wages for goods produced in the EU are far higher than for good produced in China?

This is about the EU importing soybeans from the US, not the other way around. There's certainly a conversation to be had about the impact of other goods being produced.

Are you talking about TTIP? That was never a free trade agreement.

TTIP and TTP aren't free trade agreements, no matter how many times you put the words "free trade" around them. There's a reason both parties actively rallied against them. Pelosi and Reid actively blocked Obama from making progress.

I like how your source doesn't back up your claims. Hell your source strongly implies Reid's and Pelosi's opposition, come from an opposition to free trade agreements in general.
