Cholesterol being high isnt a medical problem, it's bad science being uses to sell you drugs. Cholesterol is used by youe body to repair itself, if your cholesterol is high you simply have more repairing going on. Inflammation is what causes heart attacks, not cholesterol. 50% of people who have a heart attack have healthy cholesterol levels.

Also can be caused by incompetent medical practices, which is why my 150 pound mother has it.

Almost, it's not being misrepresented to sell drugs, it's just businesses having no incentive to look at scientific developments if they don't help sales.

With lifestyles being easy to copy from one's role-models, it obviously would not hurt to check.
Also, some forms are mutation based and thus inheritable.

This is 100% bullshit.

There are two main types of diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes means your body produces no insulin at all. This is usually caused by genetic factors, and you can inherit it. Type 1 diabetes is usually acquired when you're a small child, but it can happen at any age. It has nothing to do with blood sugar or eating too much sugary foods. Your body just does not produce insulin period.

Type 2 diabetes is what you are thinking about. This is caused by people eating too much sugar, and their bodies become resistant to insulin. This is not the same as type 1 in which your body produces no insulin at all. Type 2 diabetics do produce insulin, but their bodies have become resistant to it over time due to all the sugar they have consumed.

In summary:
Type 1 = instant onset, usually begins in childhood, genetic factors, not related to an unhealthy diet
Type 2 = gradual onset, usually begins in adulthood, genetics are usually not a factor, related to an unhealthy diet of too much sugar

No. There is so much misinformation in this thread that it's disturbing.

There are two main kind of cholesterol. LDL and HDL.

LDL is the bad cholesterol This is the stuff that clogs your arteries and causes heart attacks and strokes.

HDL is the good cholesterol. It counteracts the LDL.

Now, having high cholesterol isn't necessarily a bad thing IF it is the HDL that is high and not the LDL. Low cholesterol isn't necessarily a good thing either since it could mean your HDL is too low, and you need HDL to counteract the LDL.

A proper cholesterol testing isn't going to tell you just your overall cholesterol level since that is rather meaningless. A proper cholesterol testing will tell you the levels of both your LDL and HDL. You want the LDL to be low and the HDL to be relatively high.

LDL attaches to white blood cells that restrict flow at the sources of inflammation. Your statement is like saying white blood cells cause scars. No, the scarring is due to an injury, the white blood cells are there for a different reason (repair).

Backpedal fail. Your original post said nothing about type 1 and type 2. Your original post said diabetes isn't hereditary period.

I also said that type 1 usually begins in childhood, but it can begin in adulthood as well. It's just not as common for it to begin in adulthood.

Now the TC did say that the doctor told him to avoid junk foods, so that makes me think it probably is type 2. However, your ignorant original post just said that diabetes isn't hereditary period. Your backpedaling isn't going to work here. You very clearly meant all diabetes in your original post.

Irrelevant, if I say pies are delicious, that doesn't mean I'm referring to the one of internal ejaculate too. Lrn2context

It's uncommon enough to not be presumed to be talked about when referencing diabetes, particularly since type 1 itself is already less common than 2.

So the context is there and you agree it's there, yet somehow I must not be referencing it? Gtfo with that nonsense.
