Loud how? In many cases if something is working but slow or noisy then it might just need to be cleaned. Don't actually touch the laser lens. Use compressed air or something.

They've always been loud, kind of like an old 90s printer

I've tried a bit of oil on the parts that move many many years ago, but no luck
