I'm not sure. Pretty distant to say the least..

He's retired and spends most of his day playing videogames now. Sometimes I go over there and he makes me play Mario Kart with him. Then we bullshit as we play.

I like him. He's got a lot of old person mannerisms that can be irritating but he's generally fun to be around.

having an enjoyable activity you can do with your parents goes a long way to finding motivation for quality time with them. be glad for that.

my dad and i had sailing, and camping/hiking/canoeing when he was healthy.

Paranoid, severely bipolar, no filter, blames everyone else for everything, judgmental, volatile, remembers events incorrectly, delusional at times, extremely prone to meltdowns, I could go on and on... Haven't interacted with him in a year and a half. Don't plan on that changing anytime soon.

- He is a very avid hunter and its what he would rather do more than anything in the world. Its the biggest thing we do together

- Loves his boat and fishing (that and hunting gear is the only thing he really spends money on)

- Got bored once he retired a few years ago so he started his own business flipping houses and is now a millionaire

- Can fix about anything and sent me down the path of self-reliance. Now I try to out do him on projects around my home, but I always come back with questions for him (though I have made some wood working designs that he was impressed with and asked how I did it)

- Quick-witted

- Loves college basketball

- Always done anything for his family

Pretty cool. We never really had a ton in common (he's really into sports, especially baseball, and outdoorsy stuff, I like, uh... pro wrestling and video games, but we at least both like football to come extent, although different teams, lol) but got along pretty well most of the time when I was growing up and living at home and obviously now as an adult and not living under the same roof we get along really well.

I'm glad he's still around, my father in law died a few years ago.
