Skye Reynolds 07/18/18 11:30:29 PM #1:	Seriously, I am so grateful that the 1989 version of Batman started with Bruce Wayne already as Batman and they casually pieced together his origins over the film. It's so much better than taking hours to establish a character and their background. It's one of the cheapest tricks Hollywood has ever come up with: take the first act of the three act structure and make that the entire movie. And it's become one of the dullest, most monotonous film types. There's enough of them to rightly establish "origin" as a genre. The romantic picture, the drama, the horror story, the western... the origin story. And, yes, this is in direct response to that Joker origin story movie.
