Do they take part of the switch's internal memory? The answer is obviously yes, but is there a way to save said games into a memory card or the like so the don't take the Switch's already limited memory?

The Switch allows microSD Cards for storage, so I'm assuming you can transfer DLC to that. I haven't really experimented with it though to see if you can load from it or if it's just for storage.

The switch defaults to saving to any external memory card you use and offers no way to transfer between the 2. If you want items on the card not the system, you need to re-download them after putting in the card.
