I once read the Metal Gear Solid novelization and I must say the story works better as a game. I guess I just dont really feel that connected to Snake as a character if Im not the one playing as him.

I'll just copy/paste my comment from the Gamespot article.
Metal Gear Solid 1 had the best story and voice acting in a video game, in my opinion. I always thought it would be the perfect game to adapt into a movie. I just hope it's the first video game movie that's actually great. It would make a good movie if done right, especially if they use MGS 3 as the stand alone story, but I don't think they would.
