Like, how far does it go? Modern man has been around for about 200,000 years but only a couple thousand is documented. Before modern man, neanderthals roamed earth for hundreds of thousands more, do they get a pass?

Jesus spent the time between crucifixion and resurrection elevating the righteous from the realm of the dead towards salvation in Heaven. It's also known as the Harrowing.

ah yes, the Harrowing of Hell

funny that, "Hell" as we know it is hardly mentioned on the Bible (much like Satan, really) and instead refers to Sheol, which is roughly equivalent to Hades or Purgatory. It literally means "the grave" and is where people go when they die and await judgment. THEN they either go to Heaven/Hell.

Depends on who you ask. A lot of people think that if you dont believe in God, that you go to hell, regardless of your actions or whether you even know the religion exists.

There are tribes in South America and Africa that have no clue about Christianity.

Basically, if this were true, I think the devil would probably get more souls.

Indeed there is a difference between the lake of fire (what the Bible often refers to as second death and what we imagine when we think "Hell") and when it talks about Hades, a word that does appear in many verses.

Which is why I took care to avoid using the term Hell.

That's what most Protestants believe, hence why they have emphasized greatly when it comes to evangelizing. Meanwhile in the Catholic and (some) Islam belief, just doing good things in the world is enough to go to heaven, though this leads to the problem of why even follow the religion to begin with.

Not to mention the myth that Satan "rules" Hell. Hell was created for Satan as punishment, not some playground.

Calvinism is fun to debate, if God already knows everything that has and will happen, then what's the point?

Is this all some sadistic game?

Yeah, he was pretty blood hungry back in the Old Testament, but having a son caused him to pussy up in the New Testament.

Does God have a plan for every situation? Sure, absolutely.

Does God know with 100% certainty how things will play out? No, that's ridiculous and flies in the face of humanity being given free will.

Free will? Christians are pre-determined for Heaven. We're just going through the motions......like as a formality as it were.

God knows everything. He says what will happen, and it happens.

God knows everything. He says what will happen, and it happens.

Double predestination, aka hyper-Calvinism (the idea that people not predestined for heaven are predestined for hell), is a complete heresy. Some people have been elected by God to salvation like Paul was, but that does not mean that everyone else that has not been directly elected have no choice but to go to hell. Otherwise, there would have been no emphasis that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world and God calling all men to repentance.

Funny thing is, God knows who's going to Heaven, and Hell. He knows who's written in the book of life.

Indeed, Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, but, there are those who have rejected his message. Are you saying those who have rejected Jesus, shall go to Heaven with actual Christians? Are you saying the BEAST has not been pre-selected?

The Gospel according to John Chap.15 verses 12-17(New American Standard Bible (NASB) states:

12 This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. 17 This I command you, that you love one another.

Consider the bolded. If Christians didn't choose Jesus, but Jesus CHOSE THEM(us, for those who believe), does this not mean he cherry picked those destined to Heaven?

Christians are called "elected" for a reason.
