well, i'm thinking of it broadly/conceptually in terms of building a sense of shared identity, but to use applied praxis examples: asians fighting academic racism, black lives matter, etc

what prompted this topic (the more interesting development being that some people equivocate race advocacy with dating, for some reason- and also general confusion about what advocacy is) is that i feel like mixed race problems are not clearly understood except for a few things everyone knows about (problems which still exist and are often just mentioned without much thought).

1) Racial advocacy exists to advance the political, social and economic interests of a racial group
2) Race mixing has nothing to do with racial advocacy for mixed-race people because [racial advocacy] is about rights/justice for mixed race people, not people who do or do not want to date other races. Consider that the mixed person already exists so whether or not two people should create a mixed person has no bearing on this subject.

are we clear? feel free to continue not understanding this apparently difficult subject

EDIT: TO BE EVEN MORE CLEAR: creating more members of a racial group is not advocating for that groups interests

Yeah I have no problem with that, mixed people have it rough from what I've heard. They have trouble fitting in with either racial group that they belong to

I actually thought this was what it's about because my girlfriend and I discuss this subject often. And yes, I think mixed race should have advocacy. In some ways mixed race people have it worse because they are low key(sometimes not so low key) shunned by both races that they come from.
