I need to renew my license. I would do it online but I'm not qualified for it yet until after this update. My DMV opens at 8AM. What time should I show up to avoid the horribly long wait at DMVs and get out of their quick?

if you are a mid to large city/metro are, 7:30 if you want it at opening. About 9:30 or 10 is probably the best time.

If you live in a rural area you could probably show up at 8.

NYS has license renewal locations that only handle renewal and other types of transactions that are much faster than a normal DMV location. I went there and waited on line outside before it opened about 10 minutes early. I was in and out when it opened in about 20 minutes to renew my license.

Go to one that pretty much only renews licenses. The wait is generally not as long as ones where they do testing and all sorts of other shit. I've been in and out in like 10 minutes on most of my visits.

7:30 you might have 3-5 ahead of you but it shouldn't take long

I only have 1 DMV. I'm not in a big city.

I might do that. I know it's a smaller city but I went to the Social Security office before 30 minutes before it opened to be greeted by 10+ people waiting in their cars. -_-
