There wasn't much of a character there before Crisis Core imo. How much screentime and significance he had in FFVII is really overblown by a lot of his fans. Like I like Zack but if Crisis Core didn't exist I'd be like "uh yeah sure whatever I guess he was okay"

I actually liked the fact that you don't get to see him much. You just hear all about him, and Cloud does his best to imitate how cool he was. It kinda gave him an aura of mystery. FFVII was a case where less was more for Zack.

But then, I didn't mind when they decided more was more either.

So something I remember thinking when playing Crisis Core. Is Zach the only First Class not to be one of those test tube babies, essentially?

Had I know he was actually in danger I would have saved him and should have saved him.

Yeah without Crisis Core Zack was just kind of there. Not really enough there to say if I liked him or not.
