"It'll be fun." I thought.

>impressing 100 nobles in the US version gives you 10,000 Gil. In the Japanese version, it gives you a slightly random amount of around 900 Gil

>Stiltzken doesn't give you a Ribbon for completing his deals in the Japanese version, meaning you can only have 3 Ribbons total, not enough for a whole party, unlike the US version, where you can get 4

Where the hell is our FFIX International? ;_;

Man this makes me sad

FFIX is one of my all time favorite games and I didn't even know there was a difference between versions other than the pal Battle Speed issue

FFX I knew all about the different versions because the US wouldn't stop crying about not having Dark Aeons.

But FFIX? News to me

^ Hey now that's completely unfair.

Yeah, I had no idea there were differences in this version either. I thought the next game to get revisions was FFX after FFVII (outside of localization differences in 8 and 9 of course).

VII and the new weapon fights, plus a few extra scenes but that's about it.

FFIX only has one or two things, but in my opinion, an extra 9,900 Gil and an extra goddamn Ribbon are pretty huge. Kinda wish they had done like a "v.1.1" like you sometimes see with games that could have changed that.

Gameplay-wise, FFVII International is pretty much identical to the US version. Number of discs-wise, it has a 4th disc that serves as a complete guide to the game. A map of every single area, including where items are hidden, as well as a list of all the items, weapons, Materia, etc., and a bestiary revealing all the stats of nearly every monster. (Ruby Weapon and Emerald Weapon excluded.) It even has some behind-the-scenes stuff, like concept art and even a video showing off the beta version of FFVII.
