My router/modem is about 25-30 ft down the hall from my sons room. Hes getting lag on his PS3 trying to play CoD. Any recommendations as to brand, type, or reach I would need in a device?
Streaming services like Netflix, YouTube and the internet in general run fine. Its just playing online. Or does PlayStation themselves make signal boosters for the PS3? --- I think I need a drink. Almost everybody does only they don't know it. -- Charles Bukowski ... Copied to Clipboard!

I have this netgear wifi booster that plugs into an outlet and like rebroadcasts the signal.
https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-N300-Range-Extender-EX2700/dp/B00L0YLRUW/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1531090318&sr=1-3&keywords=wifi+extender It worked and the connection was consistent, but the speed was slower. I ended up moving my router a couple of feet over and it seemed to fix my problems >_<. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Thanks I may give that a try. I was sure netgear was a good brand but Ive never needed a booster till now.
Though my wife used some aluminum foil coming from the internal antenna in the PS3 and it helped boost it up. Our son goes mamma knows gypsy magic lol --- I think I need a drink. Almost everybody does only they don't know it. -- Charles Bukowski ... Copied to Clipboard!

Could also look into powerline adapters. It uses your powerline to transfer internet signal via ethernet. It was another thing i tried but again, the speeds weren't what i needed.

Wifi mesh Netgear Orbi, main unit plugs in to your existing router and with the satellite unit you can get 5k sq feet of coverage.

And it adds some lag. But it's better than nothing. --- Vocaloid topic: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/2000121-/76430759 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Get a powerline adapter if you only have the one computer you need boosted. Way better option.

PS triple only has 2.4 ghz wifi so your only real option for a solid connection is something that will get an ethernet connection to it
Powerline adapter is probably your best bet. Put one end hardwire ethernet off the router, other end near the PS3 and plug into with ethernet ... Copied to Clipboard!

I've heard powerline adapter's effectiveness is dependent on the quality of wiring in your house.
