Current Events > so my car overheated. what should i do? i dunno anything about cars

i noticed a white smoke coming up from my hood and then i saw that my engine temp was in the red. when i checked under the hood, my coolant cap had popped off and was sitting next to my coolant reservoir. there was still coolant so i put it back and turned on the engine. still in the red. then i looked again and it was empty, so im guessing all the remaining coolant went into the radiator and i was effectively out of coolant. i filled it back up to full and waited a bit for the engine to cool and turned it on again. normal temperatures.

i dont know how i ran out of coolant, but i guess it has been a while since i checked it. so maybe that was just it?

do i need to check anything else now? it seems to run fine now..
