This is the first nice day in months for me. We are actually sitting in mid 80s and I think that will be the case tomorrow.

We've had 100 degree heat plus humidity for months prior to this but you didn't hear us bitching about it. But once it gets hot on the west coast everyone has to cry about it. Suck it up girls

I don't live on east coast. Basically if the coast is hot, then you're going to hear about it. Meanwhile the Midwest is in that heat long before and after the coast has it

This kind of heat isn't normal. Typical Summer days are a hot but tolerable low 90s. The 116s are very unusual and straight up awful.

Having seen plenty of both coasts and defended living in the midwest numerous times on here, I am so confident in my living situation that I don't need to begin yet another ridiculously easy argument (that always ends with the pro-coasters running away). It's just not worth my time to initiate.

I'll let you start with the pro-coast arguments.

(Mind you, don't twist what I'm saying to mean "oh he's too scared to argue at all." That's not the case. I just don't need to start it. I'll happily entertain any pro-coast points you have. I just want you to start.)

Well on top of the oceans and the weather, there's just more to do on the coasts. Iean I really don't know where to start because every single aspect of life is better on the coasts, its the reason those are the places people want to live. So maybe you prefer to be in A flat landlocked state, but the overwhelming majority of people prefer to be on the coasts, so there really isn't an argument to be had here, and your refusal to even make a single argument proves that, despite your man supposed arguments to the contrary which no one is believing actually happened.

Ok sure, so you'll actually make an argument now? Cuz that's all I wanted to see in the first place.

Sure. Let's start with the ocean.

The ocean is, by far, the most overrated aspect of living in or traveling to a particular destination. Let's forget the potentially life-threatening aspects of it (sharks, riptide, breaking your neck while surfing/bodysurfing) and the generally inconvenient aspects of it (overcrowding, sand is awful when you're done for the day, also fucking jellyfish were horrific last time I was there); what you're left with is a very pretty but generally useless body of water that a safer, FAR cheaper, FAR less populated lake can accomplish. Not a small lake, mind you, but a big one. We have a house on Lake Superior for example. It's gorgeous and desolate. Miles of beach, all to yourself.

It's like its own little mini-ocean without all the deadly and inconvenient aspects mentioned above. It's fucking perfect. We can still do everything you do in the ocean, but better! We can boat, sail, jet-ski, fish, play frisbee/football on the beach, all those things, without worrying about other people.

Oh and it's lakefront too. Don't come at me with your oceanfront property. You and I both know you and 99.9% of Americans can't afford oceanfront. We just walk right back to the shower. No getting the cars all shitty with sand and wet stuff. Right into the laundry room. Easy.

Secondly, the weather; this is the only one I generally do cede. Midwest weather, while sometimes exaggerated, can indeed get pretty extreme on both hot and cold sides. My answer is, it's 2018. We aren't dying from heat or cold exposure anymore. Maybe it gets a bit inconvenient when the car is toasty after work (which yours is too), but the cold is the easiest to deal with. One winter coat is all it takes (which brings up a point, wintery snow-related activities that you all never get to sniff with a ten-foot pole).

But at the end of the day, if weather is the reason you choose to live by an expensive and overcrowded tourist trap, then there is no argument to be had, as no logical person makes a decision based on such a small thing alone.

So now that I've massacred your opening points, would you like to continue? Feel free to either A.) Respond to my claims about the ocean/weather, B.) Bring up the other things you had in mind ("there's just so much more to do"), or C.), this being ideal, both!

And my much anticipated laugh at your inability to respond to a completely valid and well-constructed case with a wordy way to just say "no u" was appreciated as well.

I'm off for now, I'm getting prime rib at this marina restaurant that would likely cost you 4x as much. I do hope you change your mind and construct an argument of your own when you return. Like I said, I have this argument all the time, so I'm obviously open to it and confident in my stance, whereas you clearly are not. And funny enough, as I mentioned,

I've said this before, I'm not here to just blindly rip the ocean for the sake of winning an e-argument. I just want some real insight. But since he couldn't actually provide any, then I have to assume he doesn't have much confidence in his decision to live there.

As a Southern Californian, I will damn well complain about the weather. It's gradually becoming the most expensive place to live in the US. There needs to be something that makes it worth it. The overpopulation sure isn't helping either. The biggest saving grace is that we generally have the best weather conditions. Perfect weather majority of the time.

See, that's something I never understood. How the hell is having the same weather every single day "perfect?" I like a brisk 10 degree January morning. I like a 100 degree August afternoon. Why would you want the weather to be the same... every day?

I think everyone can agree if it isnt beach weather (70-75, medium-light breeze, slightly cloudy) that its shitty weather.

Well that's subjective. If you're trying to go snowboarding nthat weather sucks. But yeah for the most part you're right. Do you think that it's better to live on the coasts? Do you think lake Superior is even comparable to the Pacific ocean, let alone Superior?

Ive only ever lived in Florisa so itd be hard to make that comparison.

Will say though that whatever climate Spain has around march/April is pretty good too.
