Only been to east coast variants but Universal seemed like it was more for causals (rides were rather tame). You can do about one of their three parks a day but one is waterpark.
I believe six flags is supposed to have the most intense rides. And Disney manages to be so freaken magical. Never heard of Knotts berry farm. ... Copied to Clipboard!

just for reference i am leaning towards six flags and universal to get a mix of coasters and theme stuff that i like - like harry potter. Go for Six Flags and Universal if you can't afford Disney. Knott's is only good for a one time trip, Universal too if you didn't went on most of the rides. For Universal, it's like rewatching a episode from a t.v show while in knotts tryhard to act better than Six Flags. Most of the actractions are towards kids and the old west/peanuts gang attractions are boring. --- I'm undecided (my m00d/feelings). Official Theme Song #22: King of the Dead ... Copied to Clipboard!

Never been to any of those places but I'd choose Six Flags and Knot's Berry Farm.
