The "no one can fuck with you" thing only applies if you have nuclear weapons. Nuclear power just means... you're not going to have to worry about running out of power to run your gaming consoles.

I'd probably build one, and detonate it somewhere in the middle of nowhere where it won't hurt anyone (but will be seen by many) for the lulz. Then I'd go back to just enjoying cheap, reliable power.
