It's a fun game. Matches are stressful.

I found doing simple rules to be more enjoyable so I don't have to worry about trick shots and shit.

The boards are not usually a good place to check consensus, but the overall word of mouth seems to be pretty good. Like someone said, there are questionable choices they made (with the whole slow motion thing), but otherwise it's a solid title. Then again, with last Mario Tennis game being Ultra Smash, this game does seem like a big step from it.

I thought I remember them saying you could choose to play standard Mario Tennis, but I don't know if that's true.

I've started rejecting matches with Bowser Jr unless I use him myself.

Apart from that, way too fun for a Tennis game. Hope they do a Golf game, always loved Mario Golf 64/GCTT

Yeah, I won't even face Bowser Jr. unless I am him or Waluigi. Can't wait until they start to balance the game, really hope they are serious about it, and will nerf him asap.

I'm hoping for another Sluggers and Strikers game.

Yeah, ARMS was slow-paced, while Aces is fast and fun.

Also, I am going to do simple mode once I win the tournament with every single character...which might be a while.

Tbh, I hope this doesn't come across as me defending their laziness when it comes to content, but I was probably only going to play online, along with many other people like me, anyways. I'll do adventure mode for fun when I want a break from the online stress, and would rather have offline stress, but I was probably not going to play the stuff they would have had anyways.

They should still allow you to change the length of tennis matches for local play though.

I'm not much of a gamer, so might not run in the same circles as you do, lol. I mostly just see the titles of YouTube videos, but I never click on them.
