Ive had my pc hooked up to my TV for a few years now, but the wife and I are moving and have to change our setup so I want to try out a nice 1440p monitor. Any recommendations? I will only be using one monitor because I can't really afford 2 nice ones atm

How close do you sit to it?

If you are sitting about a one foot away, but no more than two... that's the sweet spot where you can go cheap, just get a crappy Acer.

If you are farther away than that, then you'll need something, like, better

Do you play old school games? Because 1440p is really annoying to get the resolution on a lot. Example, I can't get 2560x1440 on resident evil remake. I changed the config.ini and it puts it in a smaller resolution. So I have to set it to 1920x1080, which defeats the purpose of my monitor. But even games like KoToR work but it has no real scaling. If your only playing with new games it's worth it. But I play a lot of old shool gamea as well so I regret even buying it. Get a 1080 or a 4k instead.
